Chance Labrador Retriever Young Male in Springfield, Missouri

My story
Chance is a sweet, loving boy who didn’t get a fair shot at the good life until he found HHR. While we weren’t so sure how he was going to do when he first came into care, he has made so much progress in the little time he has been with us. We originally had some territory issues with food and toys. We have gotten to where he is out and playing with the other dogs most of the time! We still keep food separate and his forever family will need to be aware of this if he goes to a home with another dog. I think with continued training he would learn those boundaries and do great.Chance is loving toys, especially balls! He has typical lab energy!Chance loves people. He is a 70 lb. lap dog. I believe he would do well as an only dog if he was able to live an active lifestyle! He would love to go on hikes and play.He does great with kids but due to big lab energy, younger kids may not be ideal until he is better trained. He has not been tested with cats.Chance does have some signs of anxiety, but his calming collar and anxiety medicine have been helping. When he first came, I tried to give him a room space, and he did not like not being able to see us. He does sleep in the kennel and seems to do better in it at night than when we have to leave for work. Chance is going to be a great companion to his forever family!
